OFFICE OF THE LEADER OF OPPOSITION

Gujarat Vidhansabha, Gandhinagar.

Press Note                                                                                      12/06/2010

  • In a mad race for misleading publicity CM publishes photo of U.P. woman in a Gujarat centric advertisement in Bihar.
  • The Chief Minister of Gujarat is suffering from Megalomania
  • As one enters Gandhinagar there are posters with very small pictures of Mahatma Gandhi and huge photos of Modi.
  • The farmers of Gujarat were progressive in past but the policies of this government are stifling their progress.
  • The CM is making false claims that there will be petrol in taps in the state. Petrol is a distant dream people are not getting even water from these taps.
  • The people who claim that farmers of Gujarat buy new Maruti every year do not know the actual condition and problems of farmers.

Leader of opposition in the State Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil has said that the Chief Minister of Gujarat is suffering from Megalomania. In an attempt to portray himself he has placed advertisements in newspapers of Bihar showing development of women and a particular caste but the photos are of women from U.P.  not of Gujarat. As one enters Gandhinagar there are posters with very small pictures of Mahatma Gandhi and huge photos of Modi. Only a person suffering from Megalomania can put his pictures larger than Mahatma Gandhi.

During his visits to other states he claims that the farmers of Gujarat are so prosperous that they buy a new Maruti every year but in reality the VAT and surcharge on fertilizers and seeds is highest in Gujarat. The farmers of the state progress due to their own hard work. Even in the past the farmers of Gujarat have always been ahead compared to other states. The neighboring Maharasthra government has farmer friendly policies be it VAT or rebate in interest for regular payment of loans, but the policies of the Gujarat government have always been anti farmer. For many years the farmers are waiting for meterless power connection. The farmers have to pay unimaginable money for additional power load. The funds for farmers are being wasted on Krushi raths which have become a tool of publicity for CM.

During the elections it was promised that there would be petrol even in taps. But today the situation is such that petrol is a distant dream people are not getting even water.

Public money is being wasted by putting huge posters of GSPC advertisement. Crores of rupees are being given for these advertisements without any tender. And deals are being finalized for publicity of CM. The CM has no right to spend crores of rupees of the people of the state during his political visit to Bihar, Gohil said.
