OFFICE OF THE LEADER OF OPPOSITION
Gujarat Vidhansabha, Gandhinagar.
Press Note 19th June, 2010
- Bihar Chief Minister has insulted entire Gujarat by returning the aid Gujarat had sent for the people of Bihar.
- Gujarat CM’s lust for publicity has given an opportunity to Bihar CM to insult Gujarat.
- The aid to Bihar was not from proprietary firm of Gujarat CM but from the money of people of Gujarat.
- The culture of Gujarat is so full of humility that something given by one hand is not known to the other hand.
- Even at the time of Mumbai terrorist attack, families of the martyrs had returned money from Gujarat CM just because of this problem of publicity.
- Martyrs of Akshardham and widows do not get adequate pension but the CM’s lust for publicity remains forever.
- CM has a misleading campaign of number one in development, but it is truly number one in getting insulted and humiliated.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has returned Rs. five crore of aid Gujarat had given. He should not have done so. The aid to Bihar was not from proprietary firm of Gujarat CM but from the money of people of Gujarat.
Severely criticising Gujarat CM, leader of Opposition in the State Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil said that his lust for publicity has given an opportunity to Bihar CM to insult Gujarat. The culture of Gujarat is so full of humility that something given by one hand is not known to the other hand.
Publicity hungry Gujarat CM behaved in such a manner that hurt the pride and self respect of Gujarat and gave a chance to Bihar CM to play politics on the issue and insult Gujarat, he said. At a time when Nitish Kumar is ruling the government with the support of BJP, it is the duty of the BJP to make sure that those who have insulted Gujarat should be taught a lesson. BJP leadership should also take action against its party leader who has created such a situation.
The CM who did not announce sufficient relief to policemen of the state fighting against terrorists or working during natural calamities or even for NSG commandos who laid their lives during Akshardham attack rushed to Mumbai during terrorist attack and wasted crores of rupees to make announcement before cameras for compensation to Hemant Karkare and others who sacrificed their lives. Even at that time also the families of the martyrs refused to accept assistance from Gujarat only because of Modi’s lust for publicity which was a blow to state’s pride.
Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar has insulted Gujarat Chief Minister and returned the relief money. This is first such incident in the country. The CM who spreads false hype of his being number 1 takes the credit of good works done by others and is always wrong in being number 1. But he has been number 1 in true sense in being insulted. Due to his hunger for publicity not only he has been insulted but it is the insult of the entire State and the CM should tender apology to the people of the state for insulting the State.
