Jai Ho

Rahul Ji with Shaktisinh Gohil

The verdict is out. Positive politics have won over politics of negativism, politics of hatred and plainly speaking, petty politics.

The country has decided and reposed faith in us. The Congress, is the right choice. I salute all Indians for the Sensible Choice they have made.

A lot of people kept on asking me about Gujarat. The BJP was all over. predicting. We were flooded with Narendra Modi bragging(that’s usual, isn’t it) about how Gujarat will ensure victory for NDA to big and small time Modi clones claiming unprecedented number of seats for the party. The Gujarat BJP president Purshottam Rupala made it clear that his party will get minimum 20 seats in Gujarat, and even named the six seats they would not get. Till yesterday morning even when counting was going on, Modi’s managers in different sectors of society were doing an overkill, talking of BJP and NDA victory.

But Modi’s black magic boomeranged. The BJP and NDA has been nearly wiped out from all over India. In Gujarat too, the Modi math was skewed up (like most of his other things?) No wonder, the BJP’s star campaigner was no where to be found.

Well, just like most of you, I too saw shri Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu graciously accepting defeat. Even Advaniji who gave such a strong fight(in India and Gujarat both for in Gujarat too, the senior BJP leader faced a remarkable fight with Congress’ Suresh Patel) called up Manmohan Singh ji and Sonia ji to congratulate them. All the BJP leaders accepted collective responsibility of the defeat. But Modi ji was no where present.

Modi can be and is a good sales man. Like those those door to door efficient sales guys who can do good marketing. Modi was the foremost to market himself in the Loksabha elections. We were told of how many miles he flew, how many meetings he attended, how he is the star campaigner. Modesty and Modi don’t go along well together but still we do remember how he went and held Nitish Kumar’s hand in Ludhiana and tried to give a picture of unity.

The same Modi who boasted and bragged non stop hid himself in his house and refused to meet anyone or react on the BJP defeat. Well, collective responsibility is an alien concept to this narcissist.

I remember, as a Congressman I was hurt when he made snide remarks. He mocks at people. He laughed and ridiculed Manmohanji’s paghdi, called Congress a budhiya, Priyanka Gandhi a gudiya and Rahulji a fish in an aquarium. Well, Modi must realize that the same small aquarium fish has gobbled up the so called big Crocodile that he made himself to be.

The true significance of the Congress victory lies in UP which Rahul ji has turned around so awesomely for us. But there are important lessons from Gujarat as well. Modi magic has not worked here as per the black magician’s desire.

I do not want to stoop low to comment and pass snide remarks but I hope Mr Modi realizes that it is very easy to harp on negativities. Just by screaming, screeching or repeating lies frequently or mimicking seniors, one does not become a leader. Modi runs sanskar dham on the outskirts of Ahmedabad where he runs his parallel Hindutva laboratory. Now that he does not have to fly around star campaigning, maybe he can spend some meaningful time at his sanskar dham and try to imbibe some sanskar himself! or is his sanskardham also a place where there is asanskari activities going on in typical Modisque manner?!

I am little surprised at the delay but I am glad that politicians of different colours and hues have now started coming forward to offer their comments on Modi. Chandan Mitra told the nation last night of how Modi was to be blamed for NDA failure. Today, Sharad Yadav has emphasized that putting up Modi’s name in the prime ministerial slot hurt the NDA. By the way, do you know who put Modi’s name in this slot? Modi, himself!!!!

Coming back to Congress’ amazing victory, the Youth especially has swung in our favour. The Congress will try to ensure that we don’t let the youth down. We will follow and take guidance from Rahulji to turn around Gujarat like he turned around UP.

As the Leader of the Opposition in Gujarat, I promise to give more and more chance to the youth in different aspects.

We Indians are Global Citizens. Gujaratis especially are known for their entrepreneurship and global pursuits. We cannot afford to be short sighted, acrimonious and intolerant.

The Congress stands for true secularism, positive politics and empowerment especially of youth, women and the under privileged.

If India wants to surge ahead and be a super power, we will have to be progressive in our approach and attitude. We cannot take on the world with our blinkers on. We have to look forward. The people of India have voted the Congress because we are a forward looking party. We stand for secularism and equal opportunities.

I thank the people of India for reposing faith in us. I thank people of Gujarat for being so much in sync with the world and not getting carried away by Modi’s hollow rhetoric. Thank you. I salute you for your sensible choice. The Congress will not let you down.

This is my first blog so please bear with this length!

you are right.
negativitsm never works. in business or politics
if india wants to get ahead and be in sync with the rest of the world we require leaders with vision not arrogant self serving characters. narendra modi s vibrant gujarat is a myth. where is the development. now that themarketing is over, can we have some real work?
i had been a staunch bjp supporter but this time n rajkot i voted for congress
because i want stability continuity and peace
i dont want a chief minsiter who talks cheap. i dont want a prime minister who has so many alliances that he just cant perform.
in gujarat also, under your and siddhart patels leadership, please make congres smore vibrant.
you are doing wonderful work and connecting with youth. i wnat to be part of youth congress. please guide me on how to go about it.

Hello Shaktibhai,

Congratulations to you and the congress team for such a wonderful show. Here is my short analysis of this whole election.

1 – People of India don’t want a fractured mandate in center because it causes instability in economy and other parts of society.

2 – People of India don’t want leaders like NARENDRA MODI and VARUN GANDHI, who don’t have control over their mouth and acts as well.

3 – People of India don’t want to seed politicians and parties with 5-10 seats to enter the national politics because their only aim it to blackmail other parties in favor of giving them support.

4 – THE YOUTH IS AWAKEN…and that is the biggest secret of congress’s success in this election.

If we want to see our country on TOP OF THE WORLD we have to keep Religion and Hat out of this game.

Keep it up and JAI HO…!

congratulations for starting a blog with a caution not to spend more than 30 minutes a day on the net. Internet is addictive and takes one away from real politics.

Advani was all over the websites and the virtual space and will remain pm in wai……ting for the rest of his life. Hindustan main politics gali mohallon main hoti hai. Internet acess % wise is very low.

I hope Congress will fight back now in Gujarat and not do defensive politics. The only way out is secular, democratic politics.

no i dont agree that cong has got 11 seats because of kudrati nyay a la natural justice.
also agree with shabnam that internet can be addictive but this is a very good and remarkable manner to get connected with youth.
for the first time, youth is getting attracted to the congress and this is happenning in gujarat also. shaktisinh you are the only in gujarat who can connect to the youth. however and whatever way you do, just do it.
save us from Modi’s tyranny. Modi is such a meglomaniac narcissist. he makes me feel miserable for being a gujarati. he is an insult to all the values and culture gujaratis stand for.
modi is a blot to gujarat and you should please focus more and work hard to save gujarat from this dictator.
best wishes.

Hello Bana,
First of all my hearty Congratulations to Congress on their victory in the Loksabha elections. I beleive that young leaders like you should try and make the Congress stronger in Gujarat also by getting together and doing away with various groups on personal gains/loses.Well my date of birth is Independance day of 1948, well i can also be called Budda. The party can never become Buddaor Buddi as it is constantly reviewing its Manifasto and revising their aims every moment from the lessons learn’t from the past. That is my view as a fighter Pilot. I am sure the Young blood should take this hint and Strive to get things improving. India has made progress since 1947, but yes it is time to be called a Super Power. This involves the Ruling Govt and the people of India to put it on this pedastal.
I have Faith in Young people like you and Rahul Gandhi to get things as we call in my language.
Once again all the best to young leaders and our heartiest Congrats. KB & Ritu

Congress is NOT DEAD but yes, brotherhood and religious harmony WAS DEAD in our state before few years – Thanks to Mr. MODI

Mr. MODI ( and like minded people ) don’t have any support outside Gujarat, even the alliance parties of NDA refused to have Mr. MODI for election campaigns…even many BJP leaders wants to keep him away in their stats..

Because people of India don’t want to leave in horrible situation we Gujarati people went through. Again Thanks to Mr. MODI…

I am not blaming Gujarati people here, I am also a Gujarati, and proud to be a Gujarati but i feed ashamed when people of other state recognize us by the riots and not by the development.

Why ??? because the riots were organized and implemented on such a lager scale, that the business development looks tiny in front of those dead bodies of innocent people.

We Gujaratis are great businessmen by nature, the work done by government is only a part of their duty..

Let’s forget the religion and live like brothers and sisters. Thanks

Hello Sir.

Congratulation!!

Election 2009 was an unqualified victory for Congress as it has succeeded in reviewing itself quite spectacularly .It has won seats from all corners of the country and its game of distancing itself from regional players with personalized agendas has paid handsome dividends.

The outcome of the General Election is reassuring the two main reasons. First, the election has led to a stable government that will not have to succumb endlessly to the irritations of coalition politics and the threat of a midterm breakdown and second it has produced a broad national mandate.

However, there are many others who feel that young blood needs to mark their mark in Indian politics as opposed to the” age old paan – chewing, dhoti- kurta Indian neta”

Now the challenge before the Congress is to reinvent the idea of a national party as a political platform that can speak of the collective aspirations of the nation without seeming to ignore specific concerns of diverse sections of society.

Dear Shaktisinh jee,
Excellent piece. As you rightly said the outcome of Lok-Sabha 2009 have already given big-big big lessons to the politics of hatred.
As far as Gujarat is concern, if we go by the results of last two loksabha polls, we can say that people are willing to bring back congress in the state. Only poll time gimmicks will not work for always. In the recent outcome, if Congress stalwarts like two Union Ministers and Madhusudan Minstry could have saved their seats, then the political picture of entire state will different.
There are under current for Congress and that is from the exemplary performance by UPA Government led by Dr.Manmohan singh, Mrs.Sonia Gandhi and Mr.Rahul Gandhi.
It is right time to strengthen the mass support for congress in Gujarat.
Again Congratulations.

Happy to read your first blog, once again Well cultured Gujjus has turned table of uncultured modivilas, I observed you as well as modi on tv screen and could very well read difference betrween culture and uncultured. I should say modi can play ‘Nautanki’.I show him making mimic of stallwarts, SRP. Some one msg me after result explaining the real meaning of SRP- I like to put once again S for SOBER, R for REALISTIC and P for POLITE,all three modi lacks. I also like to congratulate R.Gandhi for courage he has shown to fight election independently in Bihar and UP. But congress has yet to do much, she has to fish out Maya and also Mulayam.TOI has flattered a lot, etv was not leg behind.Result has shown that election can not becontested with overwhelm support of media. He is failed to accept Verdict, five crore gujaratis were anxious to listen some kind of courtsey, but still he is not ready to accept. After all it is very much said that Man of a cast reach whatever height, he brings with him his original CULTURE. I think, we should not give him publicity by making him subject of BLOG.
I am pleased to know that you have decided to put youth of Gujarat on forefront. If you don’t mind, I want to suggest some ideas to attract youth. Let chalk out plan making district headquarter as base: Festival of Youth Icon. organise : Competetions-which should be job oriented- for ex, News reading, Programme Compering, etc.
2. Involve : School-College to organise such programmes, assigned youth the leadership to organise.
3. Strenghten communication network.
For this specific point, I wish to put to your notice that 108 ambulance scheme. I heard every leader of Congress frequently to explain that central govt. has floted this scheme. This was ridiculous. Instead, I suggest you that as soon as the proposal moved for any beneficiary scheme for people’s welfare, it should be percolated simalteneously through Congress HQ up to district level. To achieve,100% advantage, a strong group of communicaters is require to be created.
Cong. should start from Gujarat and for that Can GoI decide to adopt five districts of Gujarat per year of Gujarat for Industrial development by giving five year Tax Holiday? the scheme should be implemented through Central Agency. Just go through it

I must salute S.Gandhi, M.Singh and last but not the least R.Gandhi to adopt stretegy for the merger of political parties of Ajitsingh, Lalu and others.

I, congratulate you for unimaginary win and also thank you for remembering me.

AS rightly said by you.. elections should be fought on development and not on communal bases..

also mimicking seniors and talking all non sense doesnt make any sense..!! people have started understading the real issues and the party which will work for it will get the votes..

i Wish very good luck to you… Its the youth which will lead the country(according to stats 70% of indians come in youth category) and m proud to be part of it..!! You being one of the young leaders of congress and Rahul gandhi can change the pictures here in state..!!

Hi Bhai…Congrats for starting the blog,
Gujarat and INC are fortunate to have learned and techno savvy leader like U. I am quite impressed to see your website.

Regarding blog!! I think Mr. Modi is too much emphasized. He is what he is because of I.N.C. Gujarat’s weaknesses not because of his strength. He enjoys absolute leadership and power in his party that’s why he can take popular decisions and propagate and show them in larger than life form.

When I.N.C. will find a leader (which I think they already have but not yet capitalized) than there will be no reason why Gujarat cannot repeat the history of 80’s era.

Ghani Khamma Bapu,

First of all, I would like to heartly congratulate you & congress party for magnificiant victory in LS elections.

I am very impressed by your site. Its a positive step to reach youth of our country and speacially our state. Now its a correct time to develope Congress Party’s situation in state politics by using this kind E-Formula.

Bapu, one thing I would like to request that, Can we start some good workshop activity in our youth congress ? Workshop activity in mean, I would like urge you to train some good selected candidates from party to develope our own political structure in different way. Different way means some which has never took place in history of Gujarat. Let us start with some meaning full conferances with our party workers & develope their abilities to reach maximum no, of people of our state with their new innovative ideas. I think this thing can do better against present situation of our party & we can defenatly give some good results for next elections. Still we have enough time to prepare ourself for same. Let us give some corporate touch to our new upcoming workers. Let us make their vision broad. Let us teach them the meaning of ” out of box thinking “.

I think I have given very less comments on your site & more my ideas for party organition. But my all this ideas are inspired by your site only & this step ( to launch site ) is very positive step to reach new generation of INDIA.

Last but not least,I am very happy to see you on this PLATFORM OF “WWW”.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

Dear ALL

I am overwhelmed with the “online” response.

This was my first attempt at blogging and it’s a new different world.
However I want to be cautious and to quote shabnam hashmi remember that
Indian politics happens in the muhalla, not on this mind boggling web.

But still I am convinced, especially after all your responses that the
internet is a very good medium to connect. I am thankful to each and
everyone of you for the bricks and the bouquets you have offered.

Im (still) trying to figure out how to go about acknowledging each of your
responses individually and publicly but till I figure out that please accept
a big THANK YOU from me.

I am in Delhi. Yesterday we went to Parliament’s Central Hall and heard
Sonia ji and Manmohan ji. As expected, they were both outstandingly humble
and advised us not to get carried away by the victory because our real work
has just begun.

Politics is unpredictable. Imagine this: just last week, the impression was
that Congress is scrambling FOR support (from allies). Less than a week
later, every one is scrambling TO support the Congress.

Like all of you I am also amused by the SNATCH the CHAIR game played by the
BJP. Advaniji is already tired. And had categorically said that he would
retire from politics if he does not become the PM.

However even after the NDA loss, the BJP is scrambling for the Leader of the
Opposition post. As soon as Advaniji claimed he doesn’t not want to be the
LOP, infighting against sprung up in the BJP rank and file of who should
become. Murli Manohar Joshi, Sushma Swaraj, Rajnath Singh…endless list.

But as expected, Advani ji has once again agreed, for the sake of his party
to become the LOP. Now Advaniji “majboot” intention of retirement has gone
down the drain.

Well another amusing development is Modi ji blaming the media for projecting
him as the prime minister in waiting. What a joke!

Bye for now.

Generosity is giving more than you can, and pride is taking less than you need.

He need to take pride in the interest of Gujarat… not being so generous about his prime Ministerial dream!!!!!!!!

Its an honour to be trusted,to be given the power to show your mettle and prove your pre-election claims and promises.Narendra Modi clearly belongs to the old mind-set.But mind you each one of you at the helm are watched closely by the discerning public. We are slowly but surely and steadily moving towards result oriented and value based politics. What our country requires most are educated, evolved, efficient and committed social activists rather than politicians who have made India a mere debating nation. The challenge is to be transperant and show enough credibility to attract such activists to join your team.

Respected Sir,
How to spread central govt. efforts at every corner of gujrat
The Agenda is that: Each Cabinet minister should select one person from gujrat state, and that person must have every information about that counseling section. That one person from gujrat will select one person(Total 26) from each district, that district level person will select one person from each taluka. And every person must have all information, agendas about respective section. So information will spread from top to bottom as well as vice versa. So main agenda is to spread central govt. effort to each & every corner of gujrat.
Thank You.

There are two aspects when you identify a leader who should lead the country from the Front. One is, you should be having intentions to serve the society and second is you should know the tactics of how you are going to convert your intentions into Actions. Mr. Narendra Modi, as being elected so many times, for a moment, we might believe that would be having good intentions, but the way he converts his intentions into actions is obnoxious. He belives about words being louder than actions, exactly opposite to the belief of Dr. Manmohan Singh, that people of India have come to know, and which is very much visible from the clear mandate given to Congress.I might be very small creature on the earth to express my views on the fact that he should take Politics as a Test Match, not just a mere T20 game. Excellent. I have also thought various things whicle sitting idle during this vacation.. Will surely share it with you when we meet again. Modiji wanted to grow bigger than the State which, according to me, the people have denied. “Hun”, “Mane”, “Maru”, etc. etc.. used during his election campaingns for the state and the people has not been acceptable to large number of people and ultimately the Congress and more particularly, you, as its top brass could successfully change the minds of such people !!!

A significant victory, indeed.. Heartiest congratulations.

Namaste Sir,
Firstly,I would like to congratulate you on the brilliance of this article, and reaching out to one and all through this blog.

Also,a pat on the back to u and all the leaders of Gujarat Pradesh Congress, for waging a tough fight and consequently, holding fort in Gujarat.

I derive immense pleasure in deliberating the fact that the results of these Lok Sabha polls have clearly demonstarted the victory of secularism over pseudo projection of hard-lined Hindutva,of modesty over arrogance and of political brilliance over outdated and ageing, stubborn ideologies.

The emergence of the congress as the single largest majority has proved that this is the age of transparency, development, and reforms and not that of negativities and undercurrents of unkempt promises of magical transformations.

No offense to Mr.Modi, who struggled to maintain his ubiquity,by being oblivious to the demands of real people in the real world, through his narcissistic ways…well,he could hardly manage to even consolidate his own identity in the aftermath..

The congress party has steamrolled its way into the parliament with the perfect combination of Soniaji’s strong and able leadership,Dr.Manmohan Singh’s wisdom and experience and young Rahulji’s commitment and dedication towards the party.

Jai ho!!

Mungeri Lal ke rangeen sapne.
You are right that any thing extensive in any field never digest. It was a good afort in gujarat and aspecially in 15 Bhavnagar lok sabha seat for victory. By this election let it be 1 less seat compare to 2004 but under the leadership of soniaji, Manmohansinhji and in gujarat Shree Siddharthbhai and you, we all congress workers could gain the confidence that the next gujarat essemblly will be of congress. In near future you have to play acrucial an important role to lead the state. Personally I congrets you for the congress government in centre and more percentage of votes then 2004 in Gujarat. Little more effort in Bhavnagar seat by us could have change the picture.
Thank you

Honorable Sir,

Your article is a mirror of congress thinking. In this election congress emerged as only largest party by winning 206 seats. Congress is the party, convinced the people of India for their choice based on philosophy of positive thinking, hard work ship & simplicity. Negativism not runs long in politics. But positive thinking runs for ever. There was never Modiji magic, but it is hard work ship of Dr. Manmohan Singhji for nation is attracted people. The people of India also like simplicity of Adraniya Soniyaji & positive thing of Rahulji.

Hello,
The young leadership along with cherismatic personality was desperately needed in the Indian Politics. The initiatives of Rahul Gandhi along with Shaktisinh Gohel will lead India to the apogee as we have already presume that By 2020 India will be at the topper position leaving most of the large economies. The INC will do that work along with the cheriamatic leaders like Shaktisinh Gohel and Rahul Gandhi. Lets presume that everything will be henkydori along with this leadership.

Sir ,your first two lines expresses your jubiliant reaction to peoples’verdict. what i comment is ,there are no easy answers in the ongoing struggle for secularism in Indian democracy. But I believe that alongwith Political fights law and legal discourse will be one important site of this broader discursive struggle and that the courts will have a role in defending secularism from the corrosive influence of the false ‘Hindutva.’

It is my humble belief that each of the three Principles of secularism- equality, freedom of religion and toleration share common features and due to this Smt. Mayawati and Shree Modi could not get support of people.

I think we should definitely involve in much demanding Indian politics. There is 50 % of population are below the age of 25 yrs, requires sensible, educated and true youth to come forward as said no. of youngsters in politics is very small but it could be increased if someone think like Rahul Gandhi, who has a zeal to do something for India. It is good if more young people come to the politics who can change or at least correct to some extent the Govt bodies . They should be able to do something for the country , for the people. that is what today India looking for. Youth & working people constitute majority of the citizens, It is a good thing to see that a lot of young, educated and talented people are entering politics with a lot of enthusiasm. It is these people who could take us to the world of technology and innovation.
We should not though ignore the contribution of aged politicians, they should give sufficient space to the young generation to accommodate the views of the large section of population.

Respected Gohilji,

Calling the youth India’s ‘greatest strategic resource.’ The challenge before the country was to invest in their education, employability and employment.

‘Over 50 percent of our population is below 25 years of age and their creative energy is our greatest strategic resource. India has the capacity to contribute to a fourth of the global work force if it invests in skill development of its youth,’

‘Besides making massive investment in education, the government must focus on the national skill development initiative that has commenced operation with the very ambitious goal of creation of 500 million skilled people by 2022 so that we recognise the demographic dividend,’

In the same vein, the knowledge society, emphasising that creativity, innovation and enterprise hold the key to people and nations realising their potential.

‘The ‘dreary desert sand of dead’ habit must be left behind. Our young people are tearing down the narrow domestic walls of religion, region, language, caste, and gender that confine them.

Underscoring the fact that the government must invest in their hope, the policies for education would be imbued with a spirit of innovation.

‘The next 10 years would be dedicated as a decade of innovation,’

India’s young population was restless and wanted to see change quickly.

‘Government carries the weight of their dreams. Together, let us dedicate ourselves to making each day of the next five years, a day closer to the realisation of their dreams.’

Dear Gohilji,

I appreciate your philosophy of Congress of a united, young and dynamic INDIA. You are a 360 degree leader of the Opposition in Gujarat.

Indian youth really wanted a change but my 2 cents on this..

Where is the youth hiding, under cover :). Please list no of MP’s Or MLA’s who are not related to some politician or have political background. Where are the “i do-not-have-a-political-family-background youths in the Parliament”? Its should not be limited to the families and friends. until and unless that happens I don’t think the youth of India will be really interested in active politics unless they are content being some college president or just a namesake president of some small community…

Having said above, I would not discourage the young ambitious Indians to stray away from the leadership. India’s young population was restless and wanted to see change quickly. Goal is very common to make a better India.

Best Regards,

Rushit Patel.

hi Mr. Gohil

its your habit or u practice to remain silent before ur actual feildwork starts…well people do also like and cherish the lighter sides of politicians as a person…so do write things regularly…

Hello Shaktibhai.
You and Blog? wonderful.
And I am not flattering but this blog is much better than Modi’s or anyone else. Of course you need to update it more often.
That way only regular visitors and fans can keep track.
Congress under your leadership is doing a very good job. For the first time, there are die hard BJP fans like me which have started doubting the BJP and its direction. It is absolutely silly to ban the book on Sardar Patel. But beleive me, this shows Modi’s desperation…even if he manages more than four seats in the coming by elections, people have lost faith in both:him and BJP. Please send him to Delhi soon now and let Gujarat rest in peace.
V Good effort. But be more regular on the blog(look who is advising!)
How are you? You have been doing good job. Read you and your views and am really impressed. I have left my job and am just relaxing.

regards
Binita.
