Office of Shaktisinh Gohil

National Spokesperson, AICC

Press Note                                                                                         03rd May, 2014

National spokesperson of Congress, Shaktisinh Gohil today lashed out against BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. In a statement, he quoted instances where Modi stifled career of persons whom he used to call friend. Blinded by self interests such people do not know about what the word friend means. Referring to the incident of Haren Pandya, he said that Modi first murdered him politically by making sure that Pandya, a former BJP minister, was denied ticket. He did everything to bring pressure on BJP high command not to give ticket to Haren Pandya. Later, he pointed out, as Pandya’s father alleged Haren was physically eliminated by Modi. Gohil said that Haren Pandya’s father had made these allegations openly, not once but several times. Referring to Modi’s marriage and abandoned wife, Jashodaben, Gohil said that a man who took vow to remain together with his wife till the death deserted her. He never bothered to take care of the wife, but he declared Jashoda as his wife in his nomination this time because otherwise his nomination for road to dream hot seat would have been rejected. What one can expect from such a person in the name of friendship, he asked. Entire Gujarat knows who was mastermind of the incident in which some BJP workers tried to pull dhoti of veteran leader Atmaram Patel. Such a man can never have any friend. He knows only one thing, to use people as stepping stones for his petty selfish goals, Gohil said.
